JUNIOR BUTLER/VALET FOR HNW HOME IN SURREY

A high-net worth family are looking to hire a reliable, hard working and dedicated Junior Butler/Valet for their lovely secondary home in Guildford, Surrey. They spend roughly one weekend per month at their Surrey property and require a candidate with outstanding service and front-of-house skills, as well as excellent wardrobe management/valet skills to join their existing team.

Providing a very high level of food and beverage service when the family are in residence, you will be responsible for setting and clearing the table, delivering a discreet meal service, and managing the stocks of all F&B products, ensuring that the inventory is always updated and order more stock as required. Additionally, you will also manage all toiletry and medicine supplies, keeping note of the family’s preferences and requirements, and place orders/receive deliveries to maintain supplies.

You will be hands-on, pleasant, and smartly presented, and have a ‘can-do’ attitude, as well as brilliant organisational skills and an eye for detail. Responsible for unpacking and packing for the family, knowledge and experience of handling and caring for fabrics with fine finishes would be highly beneficial in this role. A team player, you will work as part of a wider team to ensure that the family’s home is set up and ready for their arrival, and work to exceed their expectations during their stay.

When the family are not in residence, you will be able to manage your own time and working hours can be 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, but when they are visiting, you will work from Thursday to Monday. Usual working hours will be from 9am-5pm on a Thursday, 12pm-8pm on a Friday, 10am-10pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 8am-2pm on a Monday, though flexibility will be required to accommodate different hours, depending on the family’s schedule. This is a live-out role, but accommodation can be provided in a cottage on-site (shared with other staff members) when the family are in residence.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Unobtrusive food & beverage service throughout the day; liaising with the chef to ensure a seamless service
• Welcoming and receiving any guests and visitors
• Inventory management and liaising with suppliers and vendors
• Placing orders online, receiving and unpacking deliveries
• Packing and unpacking for the family
• Liaising with and assisting the wider team to ensure the household runs smoothly

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior experience in a private household or transferable experience from a luxury hotel
• Hardworking with a ‘can-do’ positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
• Great teamwork skills as well as the ability to work autonomously
• Professional, polite, and highly discreet
• Fluent spoken English and the right to live and work in the UK
• Excellent checkable references
