PART-TIME HR ADVISOR FOR ART RETAILER

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Part-time HR Advisor for a multi-channel art business, at their HQ in London.

In this position, you will work as an integral part of the people function, playing a frontline role in the HR team, and supporting managers and staff through the entire employee life cycle. Central to your success in this role will be your ability to coordinate all things HR with confidence, working effectively in a generalist capacity, supporting the Chief People Officer, the HR/People department, stores, and the wider business, with day-to-day HR guidance, HRIS implementation (in the absence of the HR Systems Admin Assistant) maintenance, and communication.

This role has a strong support focus, and therefore requires a personable approach, professionalism, maturity, and a passion for providing exceptional service and support. From conducting maternity meetings, and exit interviews, to managing projects, learning and development, employee/employer branding, fact-finding meetings, disciplinaries, grievances and recruitment support, you’ll handle a varied workload and tackle any task that’s sent your way with a positive attitude.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day. This is a hybrid role, based between the office in Camden and remotely.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• First point of contact on all aspects of HR including employee relations queries and issues
• Dealing with queries from employees, managers, prospective employees and third parties fielding them appropriately to the Chief People Officer.
• Liaising with the Chief People Officer re: payroll files to ensure that information provided is correct and within relevant payroll cut-off dates.
• Assisting in the production of documentation including reports, agendas and presentations to a high standard.
• Referring and/or escalating any complex HR matters to the Chief People Officer, and where appropriate, working together to obtain a solution.
• Participating in specific people-related projects as determined by the Chief People Officer.
• Conduct maternity and parental meetings as advised by the Chief People Officer.
• Support with risk assessments as and when required.
• Advise the store teams with regard to investigations and employee relations matters.
• Support with disciplinary/grievance matters as directed by the Chief People Officer
• Train store management teams on HR processes
• Provision of new starter employee documentation as directed by the Chief People Officer.
• Amendment to Statement of Main terms and conditions and administration of HR-related documentation, as directed by the Chief People Officer.
• Regular reviews re; employee right to work
• Support with the end-to-end recruitment process for stores, including carrying out interviews and sourcing CVs
• Oversee monthly payroll process including ensuring accuracy of the data, and timely submission of information.
• Support with the drafting, administration, and analysis of staff engagement surveys.
• Employee documentation support.
• Compile and review key HR metrics for reporting
• Support the ongoing development of Diversity Equity and Inclusion initiatives
• Ensure any relevant HR database is up to date and accurate in collaboration with the HR & Systems Admin Assistant
• Support with the coordination of the company bursary, research other benefit and reward initiatives the company should consider.
• Support with relevant training for all key stakeholders in the business
• Take ownership of all communications with regard to the annual performance review process for head office.
• Compliance with GDPR and data privacy.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Minimum 2 years previous HR generalist, administration/ assistance or Advisor experience
• CIPD qualified (or working towards it) or equivalent HR-related qualification would be desirable.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (essential).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Professional, friendly demeanour
• Mature and credible, graduate calibre candidate.
• Intermediate/advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (essential), including Visio (desirable).
• A positive 'can-do' attitude.
• Excellent numeracy skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive documentation-awareness and understanding of the confidential nature of the job.
