EXCELLENT EXPERIENCED GOVERNESS REQUIRED IN LONDON
We are recruiting for a highly qualified Governess to care for a very bright 6-year-old girl at their family home in Notting Hill. The role is to be focused on developing the girl both socially and intellectually and reaching educational milestones - this will include focusing on educational activities, supporting homework and extracurricular activities. Other duties would include supervising and caring for the child during the day and teaching and reinforcing proper behaviour, including careful handling of personal belongings, appropriate table manners and confident communication in public settings.
The successful candidate should be able to research and coordinate after-school activities that promote physical, intellectual, social development, introduce new games and activities to engage the child creatively and teach her good work ethics, time management and discipline. The family ideally seeks an educated, well spoken, and well-mannered candidate who has a great background in education and childcare. Someone comfortable and flexible to travel with the family would be a bonus. The mother does have a high expectation on education for the child and would like the candidate to be like minded and act as a role model.
Working hours would generally be 3:00pm–9:00pm, Monday – Friday with flexibility when required. The ideal candidate would ideally already be based in London.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Accompany the child from school and after-school activities
• Communicate constantly with school staff, healthcare providers, and other relevant contacts
• Setting up work targets and tasks followed by regular updates with parents
• Supporting development and extension of academic knowledge of children in accordance with the school program (through after school activities and tutoring)
• Planning and organizing of working hours including playtime, tutoring, meals and other activities
• Organize and manage the purchase of school-related supplies, clothing, and food
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the child, including packed lunches
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior Governess experience within a private household
• Experience in child education or a related field, with an understanding of gifted child development
• Highly organized, disciplined, proactive, discreet and reliable
• Ability to handle unexpected changes in schedule or routine with flexibility
• Valid DBS check or willingness to have one
• Excellent English
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK
• Excellent checkable references
