LIVE-IN TRAVELLING BUTLER – LONDON & ITALY

We are working with a fantastic UHNW family based near Holland Park who are looking to appoint an energetic, organised and impeccably presented Butler/House Assistant to take on a fast-paced and varied role. Primarily based in Holland Park, the role will require the successful candidate to travel internationally, so being flexible and travel-ready is of the essence for this position.

Working collaboratively alongside other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the household, you will be a team player with exceptional service and interpersonal skills. Some simple butler duties include serving and setting the table, but this family typically do not entertain guests. There will be frequent daily errands, and knowledge of London would be helpful in the role. The client seeks an energetic candidate who is passionate about working in the service industry and is committed to their role.

Further duties will include wardrobe management for both principles, with inventories, packing/unpacking for the principals, luggage management and some light laundry and ironing. This is a fast-moving household with high standards and various periods of travel involved, so it is essential that you are self-sufficient, hardworking, and resourceful, as well as a brilliant communicator with a positive and friendly disposition, willing to muck in where required.

This is a live-in role, the working hours will be Monday to Friday from 10am-10pm, and alternating Saturday shifts. A private bedroom and bathroom are provided in a 2-bedroom apartment on a neighbouring property, all bills included. The role will be in Italy for what looks like 5 months of the year, 3 months in the UK, 4 months traveling. The traveling time is when you would be able to take leave. All accommodation in the EU will be provided to a similar standard as in the UK, with transport to and from the country of work being provided when coming off or going on shift.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Table settings and decorations
• Serving food and drinks, mixing cocktails
• Flower arranging
• Running personal errands and shopping, as requested
• Liaising with other staff members to ensure the principal’s day runs smoothly e.g., coordinating mealtimes with the Chef, checking travel plans with the House Manager etc.
• Wardrobe management
• Packing/unpacking for the principals
• Wardrobe management for the two principles, with inventories
• Laundry and pressing of garments
• Management of all dry-cleaning requirements
• Ensuring that all toiletries, cleaning products and consumables are fully stocked in the house at all times

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior experience in service-orientated role, preferably in a high-end household
• Hardworking, loyal, and discreet
• Brilliant interpersonal skills and highly organised
• Impeccably presented and a positive, can-do attitude
• Flexible and willing to undertake a varied role
• Adaptable and able to travel internationally with the principals
• Well-spoken and articulate
• Flexibility to relocate to Europe
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK & EU
• Fluency in English – written and spoken, French or Italian language skills would also be a desired
• Excellent checkable references
