FULL-TIME HOUSEKEEPER/LAUNDRESS NEEDED – LONDON
We are recruiting for an experienced Housekeeper/Laundress to work for an international ultra-high-net-worth Middle Eastern family in their residence in Kensington. The property is in use about 75% of the year and the clients are looking to hire a full-time Housekeeper to assist with the smooth running of their property year-round.
Reporting to the House Manager and working alongside another housekeeper, you will ensure that the highest level of cleanliness across the property is maintained throughout the year. Duties will include hands-on cleaning of the master suite and bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, and guest bedroom, as well as wardrobe management of the female principal’s extensive high-end wardrobe.
Due to the principals travelling frequently, it is essential that you are very experienced in packing and unpacking suitcases and managing luggage inventories and itineraries Additionally, you will be responsible for laundry and ironing which will include delicates care, arranging dry cleaning where needed and shoe care. The ideal candidate will be friendly and observant with an excellent eye for detail and a calm, proactive nature. You will also have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be an approachable team player and be highly discreet, reliable, and trustworthy.
Working hours can be flexible when the clients are not in residence, but you will be required to work 6 days per week on a rolling rota when the property is occupied. There are different shift patterns in the house, and you will generally start work in the afternoon around 1pm/2pm, but might sometimes start earlier, depending on the family’s schedule, so flexibility is required.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Cleaning including dusting, hoovering, mopping, changing beds, cleaning bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes etc.
• Managing all gym wear, undergarments, day-to-day items, and a high-end shoe collection, including repairs
• Laundry to include delicates care, ironing and organising dry cleaning
• Maintaining of all drawers and wardrobes of clothes
• Packing and unpacking suitcases, managing a luggage inventory and itinerary
• Maintaining stock control of the all bathroom necessities to include beauty products and perfume
• Liaising with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the household
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior Housekeeper/Laundress experience in a private household
• Excellent knowledge of fine fabrics and delicate garments; wardrobe and shoe management
• Confident in packing and unpacking; managing a luggage manifest
• Fluency in English both spoken and written
• Hardworking and dedicated; high attention to detail and observant
• Able to work independently with little supervision
• Proactive, kind, calm and positive approach with a team player mentality
• Trustworthy and reliable, highly discreet
• DBS checked or willingness to have a DBS check done
• Excellent checkable references
