HIGHLY EXPERIENCED ESTATE/GENERAL MANAGER

We are recruiting an exceptional, detail-oriented Estate/General Manager to oversee and manage to the highest standards all aspects of an extraordinary private residence that functions as a home, workplace, and guest and entertaining quarters. This is a career-defining opportunity to work for a highly influential family overseeing their large luxurious estate. You will be responsible for the management of all domestic staff, from the kitchen to the housekeeper to the groundskeepers, all of whom are led to deliver an excellent, seamless experience to the principal and their guests and visitors.

 
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated background in senior luxury hospitality management, with additional experience operating large private residences. Accommodation is provided.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Management of household staff including butlers, valets, landscapers, housekeeping, kitchen staff, caterers, maintenance, service teams and technicians, florists, and receptionists.

Oversee and manage all departments and work closely with department heads on a daily basis.
Manage and develop the senior team to ensure career progression and development.
Act as a decision maker in hiring key staff.
·       Supervise events and private affairs at the residence.

·       Lead all key property issues including capital projects, repairs, and refurbishment.

·       Manage household budgets and expenses.

·       Coordinate with external parties including suppliers, conference and event planners, and the Master of the household’s professional office such as schedulers.

·       Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

·       Ensure full compliance to operating controls, policies, procedures and service standards consistent with the finest hotels and residences in the world.

·       Interact with guests as appropriate.

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

·       A university degree in hotel management or a related field.

·       At least 15 to 20 years’ experience in senior hospitality roles, with significant luxury and international experience, ideally including experience in remote locations as well as private residences.

·       The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly talented hotel professional with outstanding management and communications skills and extensive hands-on experience.

·       Willingness to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

·       Professional, well-presented and articulate – an ambassador for the principals at all times.

·       Hardworking and proactive.

·       Excellent management skills and communication styles.

·       Discretion is paramount for this role.
