EXPERIENCED HOUSE MANAGER REQUIRED FOR UHNW FAMILY

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced House Manager to support an international ultra-high net worth family in their Belgravia property. This is a fantastic opportunity, supporting a lovely family of 5 (3 children) who are in residence roughly 30% of the year, and require a hardworking and autonomous House Manager to ensure the smooth running of the property in their absence, as well as support them daily when they’re in residence.

You will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the property, including managing a small team of household staff (housekeeper and private chef), overseeing the security of the property, managing all purchases, finances and budgets, organising and overseeing contractors and maintenance, as well as managing all administration and reports for the household. You will work independently to ensure the household runs smoothly at all times, and is always ready for the family to visit, occasionally with short notice. When the family are in residence, you will be on hand to support them in their day-to-day activities, driving them throughout London and to and from the airport, making reservations and managing appointments, and assisting with organising events and dinner parties.

Usual working hours when the family are not in residence are Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 5:30pm, with some flexibility to work remotely. When the family are in residence you will be on hand to offer 24/7 support when required, with any overtime given back in lieu when the family leave the UK. You must be a confident driver and have a valid driving licence.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
• Being responsible for the overall security of the property including H&S and Fire Risk
• Administration and budget control, producing monthly budgets and account reporting (Company laptop and mobile phone provided)
• Inventory and scheduling maintenance
• Managing utility bills, submitting for payment, liaising with utility providers, minor bill paying, petty cash preparation
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of all equipment including telephones, mobile phones, TV/cable, air conditioning systems, power supply systems, water supply systems, heating systems, security systems, plumbing and sewage systems, swimming pools and equipment and other systems in the house
• Monitor and review property management system daily, carry out weekly technical surveys, analyse and action faults ensuring the correct response and put into place procedures to deal with faults
• Overseeing the property when the family are not in residence
• Develop a maintenance plan for the property (minimum one year ahead) taking into consideration seasons, keep a house maintenance journal and record all property maintenance works with approved contractors
• Purchasing materials for the household
• Organising functions/social events - selection, coordination and supervision of outside caterers and serving staff.
• Assist with interviewing and hiring additional staff
• Selecting and hiring contractors and subcontractors and ensuring the quality of service
• Keep accurate records of all household activities e.g. maintenance, cooking, purchasing, and send records to the family office
• Chauffeuring to various locations including picking up the family from the airport
• Assisting the office with any duties in relation to the property or the family
• Ad hoc duties as required

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• At least 5 years’ House Manager experience in a similar role supporting an international, UHNW family
• Fluent English – both spoken and written
• A warm, friendly and welcoming disposition.
• Full driving license – confident, willing and able to drive the family car
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised and well presented
• Ability to work autonomously with little direction
• A proactive self-starter
• A good all-rounder with common sense and an eye for detail
• Efficient worker who is resourceful
• Should be operationally focused and ideally have experience in dealing with Tech (Lutron), AV, and swimming pool maintenance
• Excellent checkable references
