LIVE-IN PRIVATE CHEF REQUIRED FOR UHNW COUPLE

We are working with an ultra-high net worth couple to source a highly experienced and talented Chef for their private home in Surrey. You will cook healthy, light, and nutritious meals for the principals, and their occasional guests, and be responsible for all food orders and shopping. Covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the principals, you will ensure that the kitchen and food storage areas are always impeccably maintained, and hygiene practices and standards upheld to the highest level.

Flexibility is key for this role, as the family spend approximately 4-6 months per year travelling and therefore working hours and days will differ, depending on whether the principals are in residence or not. When the principals are in residence, you will work 5 days per week and also prepare and leave meals for them for your day off. You will also be responsible for laying the table, serving the principals, and clearing the table after service, with the assistance of the Housekeeper.

There will be greater flexibility in terms of hours and days of work when the family are not in residence and private accommodation is provided on site in lovely, spacious staff accommodation. You will have your own private bedroom but will share the staff kitchen and bathroom with a female member of staff. A driver is essential for this role and the family are looking to appoint a pet-friendly, professional, and courteous Chef who is happy to live in the countryside to remain with them long term.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
• Plan menus according to the family’s preferences and schedule
• Menus should be original, organic, and always fresh
• Maintain high levels of presentation, including formal and informal place settings and service
• Shop for and order food and kitchen supplies, stock and organise the kitchen
• Maintain kitchen (including all equipment, appliances, supplies) to a superior level of cleanliness and hygiene
• Maintaining daily communication with the principals and PA regarding requests for meals and any requirements for the kitchen and/or food preparation
• Dealing with grocery shopping and maintaining accounts and budgets, building relationships with local suppliers
• Maintaining stock control
• Ensuring refrigerator is clean and out-of-date items discarded
• Waste management
• Ad-hoc dog walking

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Formal culinary qualification
• Food and hygiene qualification
• Excellent cooking and plating/presentation skills
• Exceptional focus on hygiene practices and maintaining a clean kitchen at all times
• Ideally some prior experience within private households
• Female candidates preferred due to accommodation arrangements
• Organised, self-motivated and creative
• Well-presented, proactive, discreet, and patient
• Team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Cool and calm, able to respond well under pressure
• Must be comfortable with pets
