LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER NEEDED IN HAMPSTEAD
We have an exciting opportunity for a Live-in Housekeeper for a high-net-worth principal based in Hampstead, London. Our client is looking to appoint a hardworking, energetic and experienced Housekeeper to maintain very high standards of cleanliness across his 5 storey Victorian style house, working alongside another part-time cleaner.
Our client is looking for someone who has exacting standards, a keen eye for detail and can work independently with little supervision but is happy to follow instruction when needed. You will be responsible for the daily housekeeping duties including laundry and ironing so an excellent knowledge of cleaning products and knowing how to care for fine fabrics is essential.
The principal is a keen cook but may require you to help him out with food prep on occasion as well as preparing his daily juice in the morning. You will also be required to set up the table for meals, clean the kitchen and do the grocery shopping when needed.
As this is a large property with high ceilings and no lift, it is important that candidates are energetic and hard working. The ideal candidate has great communication skills, is personable, friendly and proactive. The principal has a dog, so it is important that the Housekeeper is a dog lover as there may be times when the principal travels that you will need to pet sit while he is away.
Working Monday to Friday, ideally from 07:30 - 18:30/19:30 when the principal is in residence and more flexible hours when he is away, which is fairly regularly due to the nature of his work. Although this is a live-in role, you will be required to leave the property on your days off.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing beds, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen
• Laundry and ironing, including delicates care
• Deep cleaning of all areas – walls, skirting boards, ceilings etc.
• Flower maintenance
• Grocery shopping and running errands
• Polishing silver and glassware
• Cleaning marble, rare woods, and other fine materials
• Unpacking deliveries
• General tidiness and organisation of the home
• Rubbish and recycling management
• Ad-hoc duties as required
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior housekeeping experience
• Fluency in English
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Hardworking and dedicated
• High attention to detail
• Able to work independently with little supervision
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Excellent checkable references
If this sounds of interest, and you meet the essential criteria, please apply within, or get in touch to
