FRENCH-SPEAKING BUTLER REQUIRED IN SWITZERLAND

We are looking for a talented Junior Butler for an ultra-high-net-worth property in Geneva, Switzerland. You will work alongside and under the leadership of the house manager, so being a team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude is essential for this role. You must be able to speak French to a high level.

This household is very dynamic and the principal entertains and hosts events regularly, so you must have exceptional service skills and be able to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. Your duties will be mainly service related and you should feel confident in greeting and hosting guests and making dining and entertainment arrangements, frequently at short notice.

The household has exceptionally high standards so it is crucial that the candidate has either formal Butler training from a prestigious school or experience as a Butler on superyachts. The ideal candidate will be personable, yet boundaried, and should have the ability to read a room, intuitively preempting the principal’s needs. You will also be energetic, immaculately presented, and articulate, as well as highly organised. Candidates with prior yachting experience or a formal Butler qualification will be highly sought after.

Working hours are typically 5 days a week (42-45 hours) working on a rota system with the rest of the staff, however, flexibility is a must, especially when the Principal is in residence. The role is a Live-out position, but accommodation can be provided for the first 2-3 months while the candidate gets settled locally. You will also be required to travel to the Principal’s other residence in Gstaad, as well as internationally from time to time.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Serving drinks for the principals and regular guests at small family dinners and large-scale events
• Offering drinks knowledge
• Management of bar area and maintenance of stock
• Formal and informal service for the principal and guests
• Serve and supervise at private functions and events
• Polishing glasses, silver, and cutlery
• Supporting the Head Butler in their duties
• Run errands & shopping and place orders
• Maintain relationships with vendors
• Additional duties as required
• Travelling to other residences as and when required

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Butler Qualification / Superyacht Experience
• French-speaking
• Excellent knowledge of drinks and wine
• Very high attention to detail
• Good listener, attentive and intuitive
• Flexible approach to tasks
• A strong multi-tasker
• Well-presented, articulate and an excellent communicator
• Based in or near Geneva, or willing to relocate
• Team player with the ability to work autonomously
• The right to live and work in the EU
• Willingness to travel as part of the role
• Excellent checkable references
