LIVE-OUT TRAVELLING BUTLER REQUIRED FOR UHNWI
We are working with a fantastic UHNWI based in Mayfair who is looking to appoint an energetic, organised and impeccably presented Butler to take on a fast-paced and varied role. Primarily based in Mayfair, the role will require the successful candidate to travel internationally (approx. 5 months of the year), so being flexible and travel-ready is of the essence for this position.
Reporting to the House Manager and working collaboratively alongside other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the household, you will be a team player with exceptional service and interpersonal skills and ideally come from a yachting background. Responsible for all food and beverage service and set-ups, you will possess in-depth knowledge and experience of various service styles, including silver service, and will also have excellent wine and cocktail knowledge.
Further duties will include wardrobe management, packing/unpacking for the principal, luggage management and some light laundry and ironing. This is a fast-moving household with high standards and various periods of travel involved, so it is essential that you are self-sufficient, hardworking, and resourceful, as well as a brilliant communicator with a positive and friendly disposition, willing to muck in where required.
Flexibility is key in this role, as every day might be different, depending on the principal’s schedule, so working hours may vary, but will always be balanced with sufficient time off. A live-out role in London, the usual working hours will be Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm when the principal is not in residence, but flexibility will be expected when the principal is home, including working over weekends. When travelling with the principal, accommodation, food, and travel expenses will be covered by the principal.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Table settings and decorations
• Serving food and drinks, mixing cocktails
• Flower arranging
• Running personal errands and shopping, as requested
• Liaising with other staff members to ensure the principal’s day runs smoothly e.g., coordinating mealtimes with the Chef, checking travel plans with the House Manager etc.
• Wardrobe management
• Packing/unpacking for the principal
• Preparation for travel to other international properties
• Reporting any issues to the House Manager
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior experience in service-orientated role, preferably on a superyacht or high-end household
• Formal service experience
• Excellent wine and cocktail knowledge
• Hardworking, loyal, and discreet
• Brilliant interpersonal skills and highly organised
• Impeccably presented and a positive, can-do attitude
• Flexible and willing to undertake a varied roles with varying working hours
• Adaptable and able to travel internationally with the principal
• Well-spoken and articulate
• Tech in savvy and confident operating state-of-the-art equipment/appliances
• London-based
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK
• Fluency in English – written and spoken
• Excellent checkable references
