LIVE-IN DOMESTIC COUPLE FOR UHNWI – CENTRAL LONDON

We are looking for an experienced and hardworking Domestic Couple to support an UHNWI at their beautiful, state-of-the-art home in Central London. Working as an existing couple, you will work collaboratively alongside another couple to maintain the upkeep of this six-bedroom, six-bathroom house to the highest standard. The house is occupied by a lovely mature couple who regularly receive visits from friends and family, including their three adult children. The couple tend to spend the summer months in their London residence and the rest of the year at one of their other international properties.

The property is finished to a very high specification and is equipped with all the latest technology and systems, which will be the Handyman/Groundsperson’s joint responsibility. Duties will include the upkeep and maintenance of all electronic, heating and AV/IT equipment, as well as the security of the property. The Handyman/Groundsperson will also liaise with external contractors as and when required and take care of any repairs and defects on the property – being very practical and hands-on is an essential requirement.

Working alongside the other housekeeper, the Housekeeper/Laundress will ensure that the property is maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness and will also manage the laundry, ironing and care of fine fabrics, antiques, marbles and precious woods. It is essential to have excellent knowledge and experience of how to care for luxury furnishings and the use of appropriate cleaning products. Occasional light cooking might be required from time to time.

This is a household where exceptionally high standards are required at all times, and the role requires a hardworking and diligent couple who is happy to work alongside another couple, taking joint responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of this luxury property.

Usual working hours are from 8am-5pm, 5 days per week and may also include weekend work, depending on the work schedule. Flexibility would be required when the principals are in residence, but any extra hours worked will be given back as time off in lieu at a later stage. Accommodation is offered on-site in a spacious en-suite bedroom with living area and a shared kitchen.

HANDYMAN/GROUNDSPERSON DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Maintaining all electronic, AV/IT and entertainment systems, including dealing with internet and phone service providers
• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all heating and cooling systems on the property, including the wine cellar
• Security of the property
• Trouble-shooting of any faulty equipment
• Repairing any defects such as leaky pipes, cracks in walls etc.
• Managing external contractors as and when required
• Dealing quickly and responsibly with any issues that arise
• General cleaning and upkeep of the courtyard and patio
• Ad-hoc errands

HOUSEKEEPER/LAUNDRESS DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Management of all household laundry, including clothing, linens etc.
• Care and laundering of fine fabrics including cashmere, silks, bespoke suit materials etc.
• Ironing, pressing, folding and appropriately hanging/storing all items
• Daily cleaning of the property
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the household
• Take stock of all household items ensuring everything is well-stocked - managing inventory and stock lists
• Flower arranging
• Polishing antiques, marble and silverware
• Loading the dishwasher/doing the dishes
• Dusting furniture
• Freshening the rooms
• Hoovering the carpets and floors
• Ensuring all bedrooms are always clean

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Previous experience in a Couples role supporting a UHNWI within a private household
• Very high attention to detail
• Team players
• A positive, can-do attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Good standard of written and spoken English
• Trustworthy and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
• Longevity as demonstrated by previous employment
• Able to prioritise and multitask effectively
• Full, clean driving license (Handyman/Groudsperson)
• Right to work within the UK
• Excellent checkable references
