AFTER-SCHOOL FAMILY ASSISTANT REQUIRED IN LONDON

We have a fantastic opportunity for an organised and personable Family Assistant to assist a lovely family with the care of their two children aged 13 and 15 and to facilitate the smooth running of their home. Responsible for driving the children to and from after-school activities, clubs and sports, you will also supervise homework and prepare healthy snacks and meals for the children. The family employs a weekly cleaner who does all the deep cleaning but would want the Family Assistant to keep on top of the general tidiness and order in the home.

Experience of working with children of a similar age is desirable for this role and the ideal candidate will be highly organised and proactive, as well as an effective communicator. Tech-savvy, reliable and able to work in a time-efficient manner, you will be responsible for organising weekly shops, paying household bills and services, liaising with tradesmen and service providers, as well as assisting the parents, who are both busy professionals, with additional administrative tasks such as travel bookings, appointment scheduling etc.

The family also has a well-behaved hypoallergenic puppy, so being pet-friendly is essential for this role. As part of this role, you will also be responsible for pet care, and more hours could be available for the right candidate, should they have a genuine interest and desire to be more involved in the puppy’s training and care. Should the Family Assistant prove to be trustworthy and strong on the administration side, there is also the possibility of working more hours further down the line, assisting the principals with additional PA work (if the candidate is interested).

During term time, working hours will generally be Monday to Friday, from 2pm-6:30pm, with flexibility required to work later a couple of days per week, as one of the children has football practice that ends later, so on those days finishing time will be around 9:30pm. During school holidays, the hours will be from 10am-6pm, with no late finishes. Being a driver with a full, clean UK driving license is essential for this role.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Relevant experience within a private household
• Kind, warm, and caring nature
• Highly organised and able to work efficiently
• Proactive and able to pre-empt needs
• Good cook, able to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children
• Self-directed, but able to follow instruction when needed
• Excellent communication and administration skills
• Strong problem-solving capabilities
• Well presented, polished and professional
• Pet-friendly
• Right to live and work in the UK & London-based
• Confident driver with a full, clean UK driving license
• Discreet, reliable and personable
• Excellent English – both spoken and written
• Brilliant checkable references
