EXPERIENCED COOK/HOUSEKEEPER – BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

We are assisting an UHNWI based in Beaconsfield with the recruitment of an experienced and meticulous Cook/Housekeeper to join their household team on a permanent basis. A weekend residence, the role’s focus will be on preparing wholesome, home-cooked meals for the principal on weekends, and then performing general housekeeping duties alongside the full-time housekeeper on Thursdays and Mondays.

Predominantly preparing a light lunch and a more substantial dinner for one person, you should also be able to cook for larger groups, should the principal have guests over. No cooking qualifications are required to fulfil this position, but you should be able to cook to a high standard and be able to prepare tasty, visually appealing dishes. The principal enjoys a varied diet, but particularly likes Mediterranean foods and is quite health focused.

Housekeeping duties will include all general and deep cleaning, laundry, and ironing, and ensuring the house is ready for the principal’s arrival. The client is looking to appoint a dedicated, discreet, friendly, and hardworking individual with a “can-do” attitude and a team player mentality, and you must be a driver with your own reliable transportation.

Working from Thursday to Monday, your hours will be 8am-4pm on Thursdays and Mondays, and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays core hours will be 12pm-8pm, with some flexibility required, and either live-in or live-out candidates can be considered. If live-in accommodation is required, a private cottage on-site is available for the Cook/Housekeeper’s use – unfortunately no dependents, partners or pets are allowed.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Preparing and cooking family style meals for the principal
• Ensuring the pantry and fridge are stocked and products in date, inventory management
• Liaising with the principal on menus and food preferences
• Grocery shopping & liaising with suppliers
• Hands-on housekeeping alongside the housekeeper to include cleaning accommodation areas, changing bed linen, making beds, replacing towels, cleaning bathrooms thoroughly, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting
• Prepare rooms for guests’ arrival
• Undertake additional duties from time to time within the responsibility level of the post

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Excellent cook with a broad repertoire able to prepare visually pleasing family-style meals
• Prior housekeeping experience
• Hardworking, dedicated, and trustworthy
• Fluency in English and the eligibility to work in the UK
• Exceptional eye for detail
• Excellent communicator
• Discreet, unobtrusive, and adaptable
• Able to work independently with little supervision whilst still being a good team player
• Full UK driving license and own reliable transportation
• Excellent checkable references
