EXPERIENCED LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED IN LONDON
We have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and experienced live-in Housekeeper to work for a HNWI in their 6-bedroom residential property based in London. Our client is looking to appoint a professional and presentable Housekeeper with a proactive nature and excellent eye for detail. The role requires someone with at least 5 years’ experience in a HNW private household or superyacht, and a confident, service-oriented disposition.
Occupied by one or two people most of the time, the principal’s teenage children will visit over weekends and there is a friendly Cockapoo in the house too, so the Housekeeper must be child and pet friendly. Duties will include the general cleaning and organisation of the home, laundry and ironing, wardrobe management as well as food & beverage service, grocery shopping, and errand running. A part-time Cleaner is employed one day per week to assist with any deep cleaning and special projects.
The Housekeeper will be required to cook fresh, light meals for the principal on a daily basis, though this is fairly straightforward, and they often eat out. The principal is focused on appointing a Housekeeper with good service skills, able to meet and greet any guests and to make them feel welcome. A uniform will be provided for on-duty hours and the Housekeeper must be a confident communicator with good English language skills in order to liaise with tradespeople and service providers.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday from 8am-1pm and then again from 7pm-10pm, as well as a half day on Saturday from 8am-2pm (ideally). Accommodation is provided in a well-appointed en-suite bedroom on the top floor of the property, and all food will be provided.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• General household cleaning to include dusting, vacuuming, and polishing; cleaning bedrooms and changing bed linen
• Laundry - washing and ironing clothing, sheets and blankets
• Clear rubbish and wastepaper bins
• Clean bathrooms, basin, and lavatories; washing/scrubbing tiled surfaces
• Purchasing of groceries and cleaning products (online and in-store)
• Organisation of cupboards and drawers; wardrobe management
• Agree menus with employer on a daily or weekly basis and plan and prepare meals
• Laying the table & providing table service
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is kept clean such as oven, hobs and dishwashers
• Mirrors and glass surfaces kept clean
• Watering household plants
• Advise employers of any domestic repairs or replacements that require attention
• Answering the door and phone, taking messages when required & receiving deliveries
• Pet care – feeding and occasional walking
• Liaise with and oversee contractors (gardener, pool guy, electrician, handyman)
• Security alarm management
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior housekeeping experience within in a private household or yacht
• Fluency in spoken English
• Right to live and work in the UK
• Hardworking and dedicated
• Pet and child-friendly
• High attention to detail and exacting standards
• Able to work independently
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Well presented and energetic
• Excellent checkable references
