SOLE HEAD HOUSEKEEPER FOR HNW LONDON HOME

A wonderful opportunity has become available for an experienced and proactive Head Housekeeper to manage the smooth running of a 4-bedroom property in Notting Hill, London. The family do not live at the property full-time, but different members of the family might be in residence for a few days a week, so they are looking to employ a Head Housekeeper who can ensure that the home is always guest-ready, stocked and kept to a high standard of cleanliness.

A sole Head Housekeeper role, you will be self-motivated and have excellent time management and communication skills, liaising with any contractors and service providers to ensure the seamless running of the home. Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the home, this is a hands-on role that requires someone with excellent high-end housekeeping, laundry, and ironing experience. Additionally, you will be required to manage inventories, order food and cleaning items online and to cook basic meals from time to time – this will be family style light cooking, predominantly for the teenage children.

As a key holder to the property, you will be highly reliable and trustworthy and have a good understanding of the mechanical operations of the home, to include managing the alarm and heating systems. Proactive in nature, you will have a good eye for detail and will report any maintenance issues to the Head of Households.

Working hours are from Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (9am-5pm or 10am-6pm) with some flexibility required, depending on the family’s schedule. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a calm, can-do attitude is of essence for this role, as is the ability to take any last-minute changes in your stride. There are no pets at the property.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Daily housekeeping and cleaning of the property ensuring that all bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors and communal areas are maintained to include dusting, vacuuming and mopping
• Making beds and changing bed linen
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, replacing towels and amenities
• Ensuring all areas of the house are reset after use
• All laundry and ironing, taking care to read the labels
• Arrange for dry cleaning to be sent and document items sent/received
• Basic family-style cooking (predominantly for the children)
• Maintaining household inventories and ordering food and cleaning products as required
• Be a key and alarm code holder; be the first point of contact for the family when using the property
• Understand all mechanical operations of the house to include heating, alarm, TV/audio etc.
• Be on hand to supervise contractors when they attend the property
• Reporting any household maintenance required to the Head of Households
• Assist the Head of Households with the development and maintenance of the house cleaning schedule
• Participate in training sessions where directed
• Undertake additional duties from time to time within the responsibility level of the post

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior experience in a high-end private household or superyacht
• Excellent communicator with fluent spoken and written English skills
• Hardworking with a ‘can-do’ positive attitude
• A strong multi-tasker and time manager
• Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously
• Brilliant eye for detail
• Tech-savvy and able to manage modern household technology
• Basic cooking experience
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Flexible and adaptable
• The right to live and work in the UK and London-based
• Excellent checkable references
