MOTHER’S HELP REQUIRED FOR FAMILY IN LOS ANGELES
We are seeking full-time Mother’s Help/Housekeeper to join a private UHNW household based in Los Angeles. An active family with four children ranging from 3 years to 10 years old, the role requires someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is happy to assist these hands-on parents with a range of duties related to childcare and the general upkeep and tidiness of their home.
An upbeat and happy service-oriented demeanour and the ability to understand professional boundaries and private space are necessary, as well as the ability to offer longevity and loyalty to the family. Duties will include spending time with the children and looking after them, engaging in playtime, schoolwork, educational and traditional games, and overseeing sports and recreational fun such as soccer, swimming etc.
Working as part of a staffed household in a dynamic and fast-paced home, a team player mentality and a willingness to assist with a range of different tasks are essential requirements for this role. When Mum does not require a hand with the children, other duties will include tidying toys, making beds, tidying wardrobes, organising school bags, running errands, clearing food and drinks for the children and parents, pet care and assisting other household staff with general cleaning and tidying tasks.
Due to the involved nature of the family, there will be frequent times when the Mother’s Help/Housekeeper needs to be nearby and available to interact quickly again while doing other tasks as requested, so keeping a close eye on the family’s calendar and upcoming outings and activities to ensure items or clothing needed are prepared and ready for the family to depart is also of importance.
The family enjoys traveling on shorter weekend trips and longer trips that extend for several weeks and up to 1-2 months abroad and the ideal candidate will enjoy travelling and have complete flexibility to do so. You will also be responsible for packing and unpacking the children and family’s luggage during travel, accompanying the family to all outings and meals and caring for the children while the family are at leisure.
A live-out role, the schedule is 5 days on 2 days off weekly, with travel days being taken as additional days off when the family are away. Being available to work early morning, late afternoons and over weekends are of essential importance. Benefits include HMO type health insurance, 2 weeks paid time off, 6 days sick paid time off and a discretionary Christmas bonus.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Provide a safe, nurturing environment for the children at home
• Travel outside of the house with the family on outings to assist with looking after the children
• Greet the family at the door when they return from an outing.
• Keep the children’s bedrooms in a clean and tidy state at all times, including putting away and folding clothes and organizing shoes, toys, and all belongings neatly.
• Look after the children’s bathrooms
• Work with the residential staff to ensure that the children’s school uniforms are cleaned and correctly put away
• Keep the nursery clean, tidy and organised at all times
• Wash and properly sanitise all reusable baby care, bottles, milk storage, toys, and food containers after use, as appropriate
• Travel to destinations around the globe with the family for extended periods to assist the family with looking after the children
• Assist with day-to-day housekeeping and pet care duties when childminding is not required
• Pack and unpack for the family when travelling
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Candidates should ideally have experience HNWI private households helping the Principal Lady in the daily aspects of the house, looking after multiple children
• Proficient English both spoken and written
• Previous experience in HNW environments
• Step in and step out intuition – knowing when to be present and when not
• A collaborative team player happy to assist with a variety of household chores
• Flexible to adjust to schedule changes as discussed in advance – there are early morning and late-night shifts and shifts will vary from week to week
• A confident, calm, and gentle approach
• US passport holder or right to work in the USA
• Flexibility to travel internationally for extended periods of time
• Excellent checkable references
