LIVE-IN TRAVELLING HOUSEKEEPER FOR LONDON HOME
We are assisting a HNWI based in Central London with the recruitment of an experienced, dynamic, and meticulous Housekeeper to work in their London residence, as well as travel with them to the USA and Europe when required. The client is looking to appoint a dedicated, friendly, and hardworking Housekeeper with a good eye for detail for the long term, and as such, proven longevity in prior roles is a must.
Working as part of a small household team, you will be responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the principals’ 4-bedroom property in Belgravia, and work alongside other housekeepers in the US and European properties as well to ensure that the highest standards are maintained. With prior experience and excellent knowledge of how to care for luxury furnishings and fabrics, you will manage clothing care, including laundry, ironing and steaming of delicate garments, arranging dry cleaning and managing wardrobes.
Professional, friendly and organised, you will be a brilliant communicator who is able to liaise with other staff members and external service providers to ensure the smooth running of the home. Other duties will include packing and unpacking for the principals, shopping for household essentials, and running ad-hoc errands. There are dogs at the property and though there are staff members dedicated to pet care, you must be dog friendly and willing to assist with ad-hoc pet care duties from time to time, should the need ever arise. The ability to cook simple, classic meals would be hugely beneficial, but not essential.
Working 45 hours per week across 5 days per week with two consecutive days off, flexibility is essential for this role and will include weekend work and different shifts, depending on the principals’ schedules. Shifts are usually from 9am-6pm, 10am-7pm or 11am-8pm. A live-in position, you will have your own 1-bedroom apartment close to the property, with all bills and utilities included (apart from food). Full flexibility to travel internationally with the principals when required is imperative.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• General cleanliness and tidiness of the property to include dusting, hoovering, mopping, cleaning and sanitising bathrooms
• Setting up bedrooms, making beds and changing bed linen and towels
• Laundry and ironing – washing, ironing, steaming, coordinating dry cleaning and shoe repairs etc.
• Wardrobe management; packing and unpacking for travel
• Upkeep and care of art, china, collectibles, crystal, and silver polishing
• Shopping and ensuring all household essentials and cleaning products are in stock
• Coordinating deliveries and maintenance visits
• Cooking of simple, tasty, classic meals (beneficial but not essential)
• Travelling with the principals
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Prior housekeeping experience in a high-end private household
• Loyalty and trustworthiness; proven longevity in prior positions
• Fluency in English and eligibility to work in the UK
• Hardworking and dedicated
• High attention to detail and strong initiative
• Self-directed team player
• Boundaried and professional
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Adaptable and flexible
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally
• Excellent checkable references (written and verbal)
