EXCELLENT HANDS-ON ESTATE MANAGER – LOS ANGELES
A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic, and highly organised Estate Manager with an exceptional eye for detail to manage the smooth running of a high-net-worth businesswoman’s residence in Central Los Angeles. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role that requires a flexible candidate with a can-do attitude and a proactive nature to ensure that 5-star standards are maintained in this 5-bedroom luxury property.
You will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the property, including managing an interior and exterior team, creating work schedules for all household staff, inventory creation and management, managing household purchases, and keeping track of the expenditure and reporting expenses. Working closely with the principal’s travelling EA/Private PA to ensure that her day runs smoothly, you will also liaise with the wider business team to ensure that all of her needs are met.
Being the point of contact for the principal with regards to all thing property-related, you will take control of managing contractors, vendors and suppliers and will see to it that all maintenance aspects of the home are looked after. It’s imperative that you are well-presented, quick-thinking and down-to-earth with a good sense of humour, as well as being a dog-lover!
The role can be undertaken as either live-out or live-in and the usual working week is 5 days per week on a rota system, which will include weekend work. Great flexibility will be required to offer on-call ongoing support, so the ideal candidate will be energetic, driven and naturally client-focused. DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Daily monitoring of the property to ensure everything is working and there are no issues, dealing promptly and responsibly with any issues that may arise
• Being present in the house to monitor service and standards delivery; carry out very regular spot checks and walk arounds of the property throughout the day
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of all equipment including telephones, mobile phones, TV/cable, air conditioning systems, power supply systems, water supply systems, heating systems, security systems, plumbing and sewage systems, and equipment and other systems in the house
• Recruitment and training of staff, creating work rosters and management of holiday rota
• Overseeing, supervising and training the household team to ensure that the 5-star standards are met and maintained throughout the property
• Creating and updating household manuals and inventories
• Administration and budget control, household purchasing
• Liaising with the PA/EA and the wider business team to ensure that all activities are coordinated accordingly and the principal’s needs met
• Liaising with and coordinating service provider visits to the house
• Engaging and overseeing all internal contractors/suppliers
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Proven experience in a similar role working for HNW clients
• Fluent English – both spoken and written
• Highly organised, able to multitask and work on the go
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, dynamic and well presented
• Exceptional communicator with the ability to liaise at all levels
• Strong management and administration skills
• Professional, trustworthy, and discreet
• A good all-rounder with common sense and a brilliant eye for detail
• Efficient worker who is resourceful and hands-on
• Should be operationally focused and tech-savvy
• Sense of humour and a can-do attitude
• Dog lover
• Unflappable, calm and able to work in a very fast-paced environment
• Excellent checkable references
