LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER FOR UHNW COTSWOLDS ESTATE
We are assisting a lovely UHNW family with the recruitment of a hardworking and talented Housekeeper with a team player mentality to join the household team at their large country estate in the Cotswolds. A busy family estate with lots of outbuildings and animals at the property, this role requires an adaptable, efficient, and down-to-earth Housekeeper who is happy to assist where required.
Responsible for hands-on housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe management and packing/unpacking for the principals alongside a team of full-time housekeepers, you will also assist with service at events, as well as pet care. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the ideal candidate will have a pleasant and amenable attitude, be willing and able to follow instructions, yet have the ability to use their initiative when required.
The family are very respectful employers who look after their staff well and are looking to appoint a trustworthy and loyal Housekeeper with an excellent eye for detail to remain with them long-term. A ‘can-do’ attitude is an essential requirement for this role, as is being a driver.
Usual working hours are Monday-Friday 9am-6pm with the requirement to cover 2 weekends per month (time given off through the week in lieu).
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• All cleaning duties to include bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas as well as unused rooms
• Making beds and changing bed linen
• Laundry - collecting, washing, ironing, and returning laundry to the appropriate place - hand washing delicate items
• Wardrobe management, packing and unpacking for the principals
• Polishing brass and silver, antiques, and fine furniture
• Setting tables & assisting with service at events
• Answering telephone and door, greeting guests, making guests welcome and offering drinks
• Clean, tidy and restock kitchens after meals, including keeping refrigerators clean, organised, and fresh
• Keeping patios, entrances, and steps clean and tidy, interior window cleaning
• Watering household plants and flower arranging
• Ad-hoc errand running and grocery shopping; receiving deliveries
• Feeding and care of dogs and cats
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Experience in a similar role within a private household or luxury hotel
• Flexibility in terms of duties and changes of schedules
• Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Very high attention to detail
• Good standard of written and spoken English
• Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information appropriately
• Longevity as demonstrated by previous employment
• Able to prioritise and multitask effectively
• Right to work within the UK
• Live within a commutable distance from Burford & full UK driving license
• Excellent checkable references
