LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER FOR FAMILY IN SWITZERLAND

A lovely family of six are looking for an experienced live-in Housekeeper to assist them in the smooth running of their beautiful family home in Gstaad, Switzerland. Working alongside another full-time housekeeper, you will be an effective time manager with an exceptional eye for detail and very high standards, keeping the family’s home in pristine condition. The role will require a variety of duties and responsibilities including all general and deep cleaning, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management, so an all-rounder with a can-do attitude is essential for this role.

Working as part of a fully staffed household, the family are looking to employ a positive team player with a kind and caring attitude – the ideal candidate will be personable, enthusiastic, energetic, and confident, able to easily interact with the family and fellow employees alike, providing guidance where needed to the junior housekeeper. Further responsibilities will include informal table service, drinks service, and maintaining inventories of household supplies. A background in the super yachting industry is highly desired, but not essential for this role.

Working 5 days per week (including over weekends) with two days off during the week, usual working hours are from 8am-8pm or 9am-9pm with a 2-hour break in the day. Flexibility may be required at times to work an extra day per week, which will be paid as overtime. Accommodation will be provided in an en-suite bedroom on a separate floor within the family home. The family travel abroad quite often, so ideally, they are looking for someone who would be able and willing to travel with them from time to time when required.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• General cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, changing beds, cleaning bathrooms and dining/lounge areas
• Laundry and ironing, including care of delicate fabrics and couture garments
• Care of artwork, silver, antiques, and other items/furniture with fine finishes
• Wardrobe management; packing and unpacking for trips and holidays
• Managing stocks of household supplies; keeping inventories up to date
• Flower arranging
• Serving food and drinks
• Ad-hoc admin assistance

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior housekeeping experience on a super yacht or private household
• Good knowledge of cleaning products and ability to care for high-end furnishings and fabrics
• Excellent laundry & ironing skills
• Fluency in English & the eligibility to work in the EU
• Hardworking and dedicated
• High attention to detail
• Flexibility with hours and duties
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Excellent checkable references
