EXPERIENCED HOUSEKEEPER COOK FOR HNW DORSET HOME

We are working with a lovely family of 6 who are looking to appoint an experienced and positive Housekeeper/Cook to join them in their luxury 6-bedroom holiday home in Dorset. The family spend every second weekend in Dorset, as well as holiday periods throughout the year. We are looking for someone who is motivated in their work, able to manage their time effectively and work efficiently whilst maintaining the highest of standards. Ideally you will come from a private household background with previous experience and longevity in a similar role.

You must have excellent housekeeping knowledge and be a really confident cook. You will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be responsible for wardrobe management, laundry, ironing, organising cupboards and ensuring that the home is generally well presented and cared for. The family are looking for someone who is happy to cook, and you should be a keen, experienced cook able to provide family style, healthy meals and occasionally be also cater for larger groups when the family have guests staying over.

This can be either live-in or live-out and working hours will be dependent upon whether you undertake the role on a live-in or live-out basis. If live-in, you will work Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm when the family are not in residence and flexibility is required when the family are in residence. Accommodation is provided in a private 2-bedroom cottage with a separate entrance on the grounds. If live-out, part-time hours during the week can be discussed to suit the successful candidate and the family, though flexibility to work full-time hours every second weekend and certain holidays are essential.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• High standard of cleaning, knowledge of how to care for fine furniture and high-end finishes
• Laundry and ironing, including hand washing of delicate fabrics such as cashmere, silk etc.
• Making and changing beds
• Shopping for groceries and cleaning supplies
• Cooking for the family and their guests when they are in residence
• Cleaning and tidying the kitchen
• Inventory management

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior similar experience in a private estate or household
• Confident and organised cook
• High standards of housekeeping
• A good level of spoken English & eligibility to live and work in the UK
• Hardworking, reliable, and trustworthy
• Pleasant, friendly, ‘can-do’ attitude
• Discreet, respectful, and boundaried
• A confident driver with a full, clean UK driving license & own car
• Excellent checkable references
