EXPERIENCED LAUNDRESS FOR HNW FAMILY IN LONDON

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Laundress to work for a high-net-worth family of four in their Central London property. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled at laundry, the care of fine linen and clothing, as well as the care of accessories, shoes, and handbags.

You will be responsible for the management of all household laundry and clothing to exacting standards, including extensive care for delicate, high-end garments, and assisting with packing and unpacking for the family when required. In addition, you will also maintain a thorough inventory and manage the principals’ extensive wardrobes.

Working as part of a staffed household, you will be a team player who can work collaboratively with the wider household staff to ensure the smooth running of the household yet be able to work independently and manage your own time effectively. You will be hard working and have a fine eye for detail, as well as having a pleasant and positive ‘can-do’ attitude and demeanour.

Working 5 days per week, usual working hours are 9am-6pm, with some flexibility required. The family travel abroad during the summer holidays (up to 5 weeks) as well as a week or two here and there during the year and would require the laundress to travel with them – all travel costs, accommodation
and food costs will be taken care of by the family.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Management of all household laundry, including clothing, linens, etc.
• Care and laundering of fine fabrics including cashmere, silks, bespoke suit materials etc.
• Care and laundering of school uniforms and sports kits
• Ironing, pressing, folding, and appropriately hanging/storing all items
• Management and organisation of all the principals’ clothing to an extremely high standard, including maintaining a detailed inventory of their respective wardrobes
• Packing and unpacking to a very high standard
• Tailoring and alterations of clothing
• Organisation and management of jewellery, watches, and handbags
• Managing and caring for extensive shoe collections
• Travelling abroad with the family when required (6-8 weeks per year)

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Previous Laundry experience in a similar role supporting a UHNW family within a private household or extensive experience in a 5* hotel
• Excellent knowledge of fabric care
• Very high attention to detail and team player mentality
• Discreet and loyal
• Good standard of written and spoken English
• Right to work within the UK & availability to travel
• Flexibility
• Excellent checkable references
